Millions of websites have began lost their rankings after the update. Has your website affected? Perhaps your ranking went up as others float down? What can you do to avoid new ranking problems? According to several recent reports, major sites such as ask.com (competition to google), ebay.com, biography.com and aceshowbiz.com have lost as much as 70% of their rankings on Google. It seems that the content (often automatically server generated) of these web pages is not appetizing for Google's new ranking algorithms. How does this affect your web pages? If your website mainly consists of quite similar pages, it's likely that your site will be affected by Google's new ranking manipulations and similarly if the content/structure of your pages has been created automatically or 'dynamically'. These algorithms now additionally target webpage spam. If you do not get too spammy with your pages, you shouldn't have to worry much. If you want to get long-term results, do not use spammy methods to promote your website. Use 'white-hat' methods and play by the rules. Your website's Google rankings will be much more stable then. Google claims not to change the search results to make more money According to Matt Cutts, buying or not buying Google AdWords ads has no positive or negative impact on the rankings of your website. He also says that Google does not make changes to the organic algorithms to encourage people to buy ads. Given the fact that Google's result often only show paid ads in the visible area of the search results (i.e. you have to scroll to see the regular results), it seems that this statement of Matt Cutts is not entirely true. There is no secret way to get in the search results Matt Cutts says that there is a pattern that he often sees in SEO forums: Someone suggests a specific tactic will lead to high rankings on Google and then everyone follows. For example, someone says that it is easy to get high rankings through article directories. Half a year later, people will move on from article directories to guest blogging, then to link wheels, and so on. Matt Cutts says that someone who found a loophole wouldn't post it in a forum. Instead, he would exploit it to make as much money of it as possible. Paid search marketing is a quick and easy way to get listed on Google and other search engines for keywords that are related to your business. Unfortunately, paid search marketing is also very expensive. Search engine optimization (SEO) can help you to save money while getting more targeted visitors at the same time. What is the difference between SEO and paid search marketing? SEO (search engine optimization) concentrates on the regular "organic" results on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other search engines. If your website is listed in the regular results, you don't have to pay for each click. If you use paid search marketing to advertise your website on search engines, you pay for every click. Your website will appear in the "sponsored results" section of the search results page. First SEO advantage: it provides lasting results Paid search marketing is great because it provides quick results. You will get the first visitors minutes after the launch of your paid search campaign. Unfortunately, you won't get any more visitors as soon as you stop paying. To achieve high rankings in the organic search results, you have to develop good web pages and good links that point to your site. It takes much longer to get high rankings with SEO. Fortunately, most websites keep their rankings for a long time. In the long run, SEO is a much better value than paid search marketing. If you have a business that is meant to stay, SEO is the way to go. Second SEO advantage: you're forced to improve your website If you use paid search marketing, your website will get visitors because you pay for them. With SEO, you get website visitors because your website is good. If you use SEO to promote your website, you are forced to optimize your web pages: the content, the usability, etc. Although this requires more work, your website and your revenue will benefit greatly from these changes. Third SEO advantage: it integrates with social media Social media plays an integral role in off page SEO services, serving as a pivotal channel for enhancing the website's visibility and authority. Creating a new page on your website...

All website owners need more traffic and more sales. Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the best ways to reach these goals. Many people lose a lot of money because they don't invest as much in SEO as they should. They are afraid that SEO is too difficult or not suitable for their company. Here are four reasons why SEO seems hard to some people although it isn't. Reason 1: " I don't know how to optimize my website " Search engine optimization seems complex when you start. It's normal that beginners are confused and uncertain. Fortunately, SEO isn't rocket science. Reading a step-by-step SEO tutorial will familiarize you with the basic concepts of search engine optimization. Even if you plan to hire an SEO agency you should read such a tutorial. If you have a better knowledge, you can judge the level of expertise of the agency that you hire. Reason 2: " I don't have the staff or the time for SEO " This usually means that search engine optimization is not a high priority for your business. That's usually a mistake. Good search engine optimization campaigns can drive a lot of targeted visitors to your website. Good SEO can turn an under-performing website into a cash cow for your business. Consider changing your priorities. High rankings for the right keywords have a direct influence on the sales of your business. Reason 3: " I cannot compete with big brands " Smaller websites can be quicker than big brands. Big companies often take months to change something on their web pages. There are several things that you can do to compete with large brands. * Use better and more targeted keywords that attract better customers. * Make your web page titles and descriptions more attractive so that searchers click on your site in the search results. * Improve your website navigation so that searchers find things more quickly on your site. * Offer something that the big brand does not offer. This can be personal support, better customer service, etc. Reason 4: " I don't get a positive return on investment " Normally, good SEO campaigns pay...

Singapore has the highest number of IPv6 certified engineers as well as the highest percentage of IPv6 capable networks (38.57 percent) compared to other countries around the world, according to an infographic released on Monday. Network Utility Force, an organization that provides IPv6 training and IPv6 network design and implementation, released the infographic to provide a look at the IPv6 migration landscape and some challenges in IPv4 exhaustion this year. “Based on our IPv6 work to date, including work for our current customers, 2014 appears to be the year ARIN will have no more IPv4 addresses to allocate,” Brandon Ross, co-founder, CEO and Chief Network Architect of Network Utility Force said. “To that end, we expect 2014 to be a growth year for IPv6 migrations and deployments, and thus, forecasting and budgeting at the beginning of the year will be important, as engineering resources are limited.” While Network Utility Force has an obvious motive for releasing the infographic, it does provide an interesting look at international adoption of IPv6. According to the infographic, IPv4 addresses will be depleted by December 2014. read_more
