How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)? Print

  • 0

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to login – a one-time code from an app on your phone – so your account stays protected even if your password is ever stolen. You can enable it for both cPanel and your billing account.

For cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel (see How do I log in to cPanel?) and open Security > Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication and scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm, then click Save.

For your billing account

  1. Log in to the billing portal at https://4goodhosting.com/billing2/clientarea.php.
  2. Open your profile menu and go to Security Settings.
  3. Click Enable under Two-Factor Authentication and follow the prompts to link your authenticator app.

Important: save the backup / recovery codes somewhere safe when you set 2FA up. If you lose your phone and don't have your codes, you'll need to contact support to regain access.
