How to block or delete a Super Administrator in Joomla Print

This tutorial assumes you are already logged in to your Joomla admin panel

 

Joomla does not allow you to block or delete a super administrator directly, so you will first need to change the user's group

1) Click Site

 

2) Then User Manager

 

Let's see what happens when we try to delete a super admin

 

3) Check the box next to the user

4) Then click Delete

 

Joomla will give you an error message

 

Now let's change the user's group

 

5) Select the user

 

Scroll right

 

6) Click Edit

 

7) Choose a new group for the user

 

Scroll right

 

8) Click Apply

 

 

Now that the changes have been applied, we can either block or delete the user. Let's see how to block a user first

9) Check Yes next to Block User

 

 

Scroll up and right

 

10) Click Save

 

 

The user has now been blocked as is indicated by this red icon

 

Now let's see how to delete a user

 

11) Check the box next to the user

12) Then click Delete

 

The user has now been deleted
