How to see your website's visitor statistics Print

You can see how many visitors your website receives directly from cPanel. It includes several tools for viewing traffic, including visitors, bandwidth, most popular pages, and referrers. If a statistics program is not showing data yet, you may need to enable it first.

View your statistics

1. Log in to cPanel (see How do I log in to cPanel?).
2. Scroll to the Metrics section.
3. Choose a tool:
   • Visitors – recent visitor detail taken from the raw access logs.
   • Awstats – graphical monthly reports (visits, pages, countries, referrers).
   • Webalizer – historical bandwidth and hit graphs.
   • Errors – recent site errors, useful for troubleshooting.

Enable a statistics program

1. In the Metrics section, open Choose Log Programs (if available on your plan).
2. Tick the programs you want (for example Awstats) and save.

Note: statistics are processed from the server logs once every 24 hours, so a new website may take a day before reports appear. For real-time analytics, we recommend adding Google Analytics to your website.

Looking for an on-page visitor counter? The old odometer-style hit counters are no longer recommended. For accurate visitor numbers, use the cPanel tools above or Google Analytics. If you want a count displayed on the page itself, most website builders and WordPress visitor-counter plugins offer a widget for this.
